Most DSL issues can be resolved by doing a “power cycle”. We highly recommend doing this procedure before calling our support staff, as it will generally bring you back online.
To do a proper power cycle, you want to completely power down your DSL modem and all computers attached to it. (We even recommend to pull the power out of the wall). After you do so, leave all devices off for TWO FULL minutes, then turn your DSL modem back on.
Once your LINK, SYNC or DSL light goes solid (which means you have a proper connection) turn your computer back on to see if your issue is resolved.
WHEN I OPEN MY WEB-BROWSER NO PAGES COME UP.
Check the following lights on your DSL modem.
POWER LIGHT = ON
LINK = ON
LAN = ON (Ethernet Only)
THE POWER LIGHT ON THE DSL MODEM IS OFF.
A. Check to make sure that the DSL Modem is plugged into the power outlet. Also be sure that the power outlet isn’t attached to a light switch.
B. Check to make sure that the DSL modem is turned on in the back.
MY LINK LIGHT ON THE DSL MODEM IS OFF OR BLINKING.
A. Power cycle the modem as instructed above.
B. Be sure that the phone line is plugged into the DSL port on the back of the DSL modem. Check that the DSL phone line is plugged into the DSL/HPN port on the filter.
C. Try removing the filter and plugging the DSL phone line directly into the wall jack.
D. Is the DSL Modem’s phone line plugged into the correct phone jack in your house.
E. Are you using the phone cable we provided? Using a longer phone cable can cause problems with the Modom Link (sync). If you need to, use a longer ethernet cable to connect the modem to the computer.
F. Try a different phone jack.
